The sitesALIVE! program is making learning come alive for hundreds of students in school systems worldwide.

sitesALIVE! educational programs:

  • connect classroom students, via the internet and other means, to student researchers, degreed faculty members and scientists who engage in genuine research and scientific discovery while engaged in worldwide, academically accredited expeditions
  • are designed to expand students’ understanding of and stimulate their interest in a range of subjects including mathematics, social studies, geography, science, language arts and technology

    Teachers are provided with educational and scientific resources including:
  • access to up to five different programs (Oceans and Islands Live!, Math Live!, History Live!, Bluegrass Live!, Class Afloat Live!)
  • content-rich websites
  • grade-appropriate teacher’s guides correlated to National and State Curriculum Standards
  • weekly lesson plans
  • weekly activity modules
  • weekly essays by field school participants and faculty
  • personal journals written by field school participants
  • photos and audio reports
  • regular Q&A sessions answering questions posed by students in the subscribing classrooms

Assistance may be awarded for semester-long or year-long access.
