Use
of Funds - Financing Educational Content
One of the
primary goals of the sitesALIVE Foundation is to provide financial assistance to
budget-constrained schools to buy access to live Internet content designed for their
K12 curricular needs. Programs that are designed using exciting and relevant content
have been shown to expand students understanding of and interest in a range of
subjects including mathematics, social studies, geography, science, language arts,
technology, the environment and music.
The Foundation strives to identify and provide innovative, well-designed educational
programs, with a focus on those that offer field-based, experiential or expedition
content, and that have academically accredited subject matter. We are seeking program
options that offer teachers real-time, real-world content and access to expert resources
not available through textbooks. Selected programs will connect classroom-based students,
via the internet and other means, to student researchers, faculty members, scientists and
other experts who are engaging in genuine research and scientific discovery. Our goal is
to offer content addressing a broad range of topics in geographically diverse locations
worldwide.
The Foundation is seeking funding from individuals, foundations, corporations and
government agencies committed to supporting enhanced K12 education and will disburse
funds to qualified school systems who apply for assistance to purchase program content.
